OAKLAND — Comedian Katt Williams’ show Friday night at Oracle Arena came to an early end when a confrontation with a heckler led to a visibly angry Williams being dragged off the stage by his own security, according to online postings by those in attendance.
Williams was already facing legal trouble over his stop in Oakland, with police arresting him after a brawl aboard a tour van and the alleged victim promptly filing a lawsuit seeking damages.
Angry comments from fans poured in on Facebook and Twitter, with some complaining that Williams’ show had ended after 10 minutes. Many said they expected a refund; ticket prices ranged from $33 to $94, plus service fees.
Video posted to YouTube showed Williams at two different points in the show, first giving a rambling monologue while fans yelled for him to tell jokes, and later screaming obscenities at a heckler, challenging him to fight and telling him to come onstage.
Representatives from promoter Live Nation could not be reached for comment Saturday morning. There was no immediate word on whether a scheduled Saturday night show at the Save Mart Center would be cancelled or postponed.
